Everyday I seem to discover multiple benefits of using a MindMap. Recently I found this - where authors have almost tried pushing the envelope in using MindMaps in studying Medicine. I found it really interesting.

Farming the Alternative Way

My deep interest in the profession of growing plants and the obvious serenity involved in the job of cultivating made me explore some of the ‘alternate’ ways of farming. My first introduction on alternate farming came from reading Masonobu Fukuoka book ‘One Straw Revolution.’ Now I am trying to consolidate the learning in this MindMap.

10 Good reasons to Embrace Poverty

I created this using http://www.text2mindmap.com/. The beauty is that it saves the mindmap as .jpg file.

Free softwares for MindMapping

I tried FreeMind and XMind software. Both are free.
Though XMind could take a lot of time to load, I found it is easier to handle than FreeMind (TAB produces sub-topic in XMind, while INSERT produces siblings in FreeMind).
One big advantage of FreeMind over XMind is the ability to export it as JavaApplet and Flash. I hope XMind developers consider this.
I have been importing XMind to JPG file and loading on to my blogspot (http://mind-mapped.blogspot.com/).
Further, both fail in online collaboration, though other online tools are available.
Anyway, the Mind Map is a cool tool - for taking notes, for remembering stuffs and for brainstorming new ideas.
